# Launch Readiness and Status Reporting

## Status report (monthly to the customer, weekly inside)

| Deliverable | Phase | Owner | Due | Status | Risk / recovery |
|-------------|-------|-------|-----|--------|-----------------|
| PFMEA | 3 | Process engineer | 2027-04-15 | Yellow | Waiting for final fixture design; review 04-20 |
| Mould T1 samples | 3 | Tooling | 2027-05-10 | Red | Toolmaker 3 weeks late; second toolmaker for cavity 2 |

Green = on track; yellow = at risk with recovery plan; red = late or blocked, escalated.

## Run at rate / significant production run

- Production tooling, equipment, people, gauges, materials and cycle time, at the quoted rate.
- Quantity per customer (often 300 parts or one shift, whichever is greater).
- Output feeds Ppk, MSA, PPAP samples and capacity verification (some OEMs: separate capacity verification).

## Safe launch (early production containment)

| Element | Practice |
|---------|----------|
| Duration | 90 days or until exit criteria are met (customer CSR may define) |
| Controls | Extra inspection of special characteristics, increased SPC frequency, offline check station |
| Exit criteria | Zero customer rejects, Cpk >= 1.33 on special characteristics, no open containment items |
| Records | Daily results, issues and actions |

## Lessons learned

Capture at each gate and at safe-launch exit: what slipped and why, design and process issues, supplier issues.
Feed them into the next program's phase 1 (IATF 6.1.2.1 requires lessons learned in risk analysis).
